Although this building is not exclusively a rental building, I helped two clients lease condos at The Douglas Grand this last week and thought to myself, “hmmm… I would enjoy living here”. I’m not planning a move just yet, but I thought I should let people know how lovely & convenient this building is.
The Douglas Grand is situated on Menores avenue (between 14th & 15 ave) and off of Douglas Road (37th avenue). The first thing to mention is the fact that it has a Publix supermarket that is adjacent to the building. While this may sound busy, the Publix faces Douglas road whereas The Douglas Grand faces Menores Avenue. If you came from Ponce & I didn’t tell you, you wouldn’t see the Publix. The convenience of being able to run to the grocery store and back within 5 minutes is priceless.
On the other side of the building is Phillips Park with walking/jogging paths, children’s playground, 2 tennis courts, covered picnic area, a large open field, dugouts for baseball, goals for soccer, a basketball court, and stadium-style field lighting. It goes unsaid that the location of the building is ideal (but I’ll say it anyway, lol). It is in Coral Gables (2 blocks walk to Ponce De Leon & 6 blocks walk to Miracle Mile), close to Coconut Grove, Brickell & Downtown and just a short drive to the airport or the beaches.
Now onto the building itself, the units in the building are owned by individual unit owners – not a corporation. Upon entry (secured electronic entry only), you walk into a marble foyer that leads to the lobby. If you are visiting on a weekday, you are greeted by the friendly concierge. The first floor is made up of the mailroom, utility room, lobby & management office. There are 3 modern & clean elevators to take you to your unit – one of them is a convenient service elevator. On the fourth floor you will find a gym with cardio and weight equipment and just outside of the gym is the expansive pool deck overlooking the city.
